Definition and Classification of Noun
Defintion of Nouns:
Noun is the name of persons, places or things.
In other words, Noun is the name of anything.
Ex. - Ram, Mohan , Sita, Kapil, Delhi, Kanpur, Gold, Milk, Book, Dog and Cat etc.
Kinds Of Noun
There are five kinds of nouns:
(i) Proper Nouns: Such nouns which express about a special person or thing.
In other words, proper noun is the name which is given by us after its existance.
Ex. - Ram, Sita, Gurgaon, Hariyana, Gwalior and Lal Queela etc.
Remember: The first Letter of proper noun is always writen in Capital letters.
(ii) Common Nouns: such nouns which express the class of persons, places or things.
ऐसे संज्ञा जो किसी व्यक्ति (persons), स्थान (places) या वस्तु (things) के जाति का बोध कराते है |
जैसे :
Boy, Girl, animal, cow, dog, bird, doctor, player, school, college, hotel, book, hero and ocean etc.
(iii) Collective Nouns: ऐसे nouns जो व्यक्तियों (persons) या वस्तुओं (things) के समूह (group) का बोध कराते हैं |
जैसे :
Crowd, Gang, Commision, Family, Team and Army etc.
(iv) Abstract Nouns: ऐसे nouns जो किसी गुण (quality), दशा (state), विचार (ideas) अनुभूति (feelings) और कार्य (Action) का बोध कराते हैं |
